The Clay County Sheriffs Office staffs a part time Dive Team to serve all of Clay County. CCSO allows members of the Orange Park Police Department to try out for and become part of their Dive Team. Interested candidates must past a grueling selection process to be considered for this role. Members of the team are on call 24/7, 365 days a year for any incidents requiring their expertise. The mission of the Dive Team is to respond to water-related incidents, such as drowning, underwater search and recovery of stolen property or other criminal evidence and more. Members of the OPPD that serve on the Dive Team not only assist the team county wide, they provide local knowledge and insight to dives that take place within the Town limits and can also help our investigators make decisions on how to investigate evidence in the water based upon water current and underwater crime scene concepts.
